Captain of the belltower, Michael Reynolds led a team of bellringers from around the area to ring a quarter peal on his 80th birthday at St Michaels Church Llanfihangel Rhydithon, the Parish Church of Dolau. Michael, a retired farmer, had already rung the bells for morning prayer that day, but returned with a group of friends for the celebratory peal. 

He is also church treasurer and winds the church clock each Monday. A man of many interests, Michael is also a member of the Kilvert Society, Chairman of the Radnorshire Society Field Section, a member of the Dolau Mixture choir and other local choirs and an acknowledged expert on trees.
