Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team were called out at 10pm last night (Thursday, July 20) to Cwmcarn Forestry Drive.
A mountain biker had come off his bike in the forest, resulting in serious head injuries.
Central Beacons MRT members living nearby to the forest arrived on the scene quickly and liaised with the Welsh Ambulance Services NHS Trust crew.
The Welsh Ambulance Services NHS Trust workers were able to get their vehicle closer to the casualty
Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team were told that their services were not required any further and they stood down for the night and headed for home.
A spokesperson for Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team said: "We send our best wishes to the rider for a speedy recovery."
