With the extreme weather in the run-up to Christmas, there were reports that Santa had difficulties getting around this year, writes William Powell.
However, children in Talgarth must have been good in 2024, with several Santa appearances leading up to Christmas Day.
At the Lights Switch On some weeks ago, many children from near and far saw him with their parents in his Grotto under Talgarth Town Hall. Then, in the final weekend before Christmas, there were two further visits.
On Saturday, December 21, Santa teamed up with the Talgarth Fire Station Team, to visit Talgarth and neighbouring communities - delighting the children, as they came out of their houses to greet Santa and his helpers on the Fire Engine.
The final pre-Christmas visit was just 24 hours later, at King George V - Talgarth Football Club, when Santa arrived with his Naughty Elf, and was thronged by expectant children. Despite a breach of security, with a protest from a disgruntled Grinch, peace and good will were restored and the children were happy.
Talgarth's Santa Team has returned home now, but, whether the locals have been Naughty or Nice, they wish all Brecon and Radnor Express Readers a Happy, Healthy and Peaceful New Year!
