The ancient Welsh historical mid Wales title of the Lordship of the Manor of Talybont was snapped up at Paul Fosh Auctions just in time for Yuletide.

And now, if the title is made a gift, some unsuspecting person may instantly become a lord or lady over the festive season.

Listed with a guide price of just £2,250 the present won’t need wrapping and should fit snugly into just about anyone’s stocking or under their tree.

Angie Davey, of Paul Fosh Auctions, said: “This really was a unique opportunity to buy something for that person who is so difficult to satisfy at Christmas as they seem to have everything.

“It’s a wonderful chance to be able to dub your loved one Lady or Lord of the Manor or maybe, even, to treat yourself.

“And, girded with the ancient Welsh historical title of the Lady or Lordship of the Manor of Talybont you may well be able to stride purposefully, head held high, through customs and immigration with the legendary title emblazoned across your passport.

"The manorial title we're selling has really grabbed the imagination of many I've spoken to and who've enquired about owning it, Potential owners are intrigued as to what it means to be Lady or Lord of Talybont.

"As well as being a rare opportunity to buy a Christmas present for the person who has everything this may well allow the owner to use the manorial title Lord/Lady after their name.

"The honorific title could potentially be used on all sorts of official documentation including passport, driving licence and other legal papers."

The Manor of Talybont title sold for £2,750 after attracting four bids from separate bidders.
