THE warm, sunny Sunday of the bank holiday weekend drew a large crowd of onlookers, gathered near the boathouse on Brecon Promenade, to watch three people being baptized in the river Usk.

The three candidates – Hugo and Dollie Potgieter, and Christine Horridge – each stood in turn to tell the crowd why they had asked for their baptism and told

the stories about what had led to them making this request.

One at a time they were submerged in the warm river by Revd Ifor Williams, assisted by his wife Penny and also by Brenda Woodier ... as a kingfisher treated the crowd to the sight of a magnificent flypast!More pictures in this week's Brecon and Radnor Express.
