The final business networking event of the year run by the Brecon & Radnor Express took place this morning.

The Barn at Brynich was a hive of activity as local business owners and representatives came together to network and share ideas.

The networking events have been taking place every other month since mid-2023

The informal events are an opportunity for businesses to develop professional and social contacts - and have a catch-up over a coffee.

B&R sales account manager Kirsty Boag explained why she set up the events.

“They were originally designed to create a connection between the B&R and businesses,” she said.

“But they’ve grown into so much more. They’re a chance for businesses to connect with each other and share ideas.

“Whether you’re an established business or a new venture - everyone is welcome.”

Kirsty said the response she has had from attendees has been “incredible”.

“Everyone here has taken something valuable from these events,” she said.

Kirsty is set to leave the B&R in January but hopes to pass on the reins to ensure the events continue to thrive in 2025.

Janine Price has attended the events since they first begun.

Ms Price runs her own health and wellbeing business, is the director of Walking the Brecon Beacons CIC, co-founder of Wellsynergy, and is a trainee mountain leader at ROC Outdoor.

As a local business owner, Ms Price said the events are “priceless”.

“I’ve never left a meeting without gaining something,” she said.

“By getting everyone together in a room chatting - it’s where connections are made.

“Other networking events get people sat in rows and everyone has two minutes to say their bit - it doesn’t work.”

Ms Price explained that during the very first meeting she was able find a new workspace for her business after her previous one closed - all without needing to close her business.

“It really is networking at it’s finest,” she said.
