For the second year in a row, an evening dedicated to celebrating International Women’s Day (IWD) is set to be held in Brecon.
The event, which Peterstone Court is kindly sponsoring and hosting, will feature a panel of five inspirational women sharing their experiences.
Listed as part of Brecon Women’s Festival 2024, the line-up has been carefully selected to showcase a variety of careers, journeys and backgrounds, and will take place on Thursday, March 7 from 6:30pm.
The aim is to champion the strong female energy that fuels our local economy, connect our community through the power of storytelling, and empower our audience to appreciate their own achievements in life.
Speakers include the town’s Mayor in Office, Cllr Michaela Davies, CEO of Merthyr Valleys Homes, Michelle Reid, owner of ‘Blunt’, Brecon’s only eco-conscious hair salon, Kallie McAllister, multi-faceted designer, Signe Lydersen, and home-schooling teacher with a focus on neurodiversity, Emma Brown.
This free but ticketed function is presented in affiliation with the official IWD organisation. Attendees will get the opportunity to ask questions and participate in a networking session, as well as enjoy a complimentary drink.
Following the success of 2023’s flagship event, which culminated in a standing ovation and moving feedback, organisers and hosts, Donna Elliott and Lily Rose King are excited to welcome you on the evening to reflect on the successes of women in Brecon and beyond.
