Brecon High School is celebrating a strong set of A-level results today, which show a significant improvement on 2023 grades in all key performance indicators.
There was a 15 per cent point increase in the number of students achieving the A*-A grades.
Outstanding results from students include Summer Skinner (A* AAA) who intends to take a year off before university, Tina Galami (A*AAB) who will go to The University of Bath to study Pharmacy, Abi Davies (AABB ) who intends to study Accounting and Finance at Cardiff, Emrys Evans (AAAC) who has been offered a place at Arts University Bournemouth to study Film Production, Henry Hughes (ABBB) who will study Business at Exeter University and Cerys Jones (AABC) who is going to study Rural Estate and Land Management.
Headteacher, Rob Edwards said: “I wish to congratulate our students on their results. Our 2024 Year 13 students have been an incredible year group and have contributed so much to our school community over the last seven years. The students have worked extremely hard and shown incredible resilience during some very challenging conditions.
“It was a pleasure to see the students collecting their results today and achieving some outstanding grades.
“I would like to thank all Brecon High School staff who have worked tirelessly to support our students and offer thanks to parents and carers whose support has helped our students to achieve so much.
“Good luck to all our students as they embark on the next stages of their education, careers and future. We wish you every success.”
