A pharmacist from Brecon will be taking on the Newport Wales Marathon this weekend to raise money for dementia services.
Jodine Fec, who works as an advanced pharmacist for Hywel Dda University Health Board, will be running 26 miles to raise money for dementia wellbeing services across the health board area.
The Newport Wales Marathon will be taking place this Sunday, October 24 after being delayed twice before because of Covid-19.
Jodie said: “I work for the Dementia Wellbeing Community Team in Hywel Dda, as part of the wider Dementia strategy,” she said, “and hope my efforts will raise a good sum to support people living with dementia.
“This is my first marathon attempt, delayed by COVID twice! I say attempt as I don’t know if I will finish on the day as have since found out that if you are too slow you get "mopped up" by a bus - and I am slow. However, if the bus gets me, I pledge to complete the remaining miles on my treadmill or local canal path.”

Nicola Llewelyn, head of Hywel Dda Health Charities - the official charity of Hywel Dda University Health Board - said everyone wished Jodine all the best in her marathon challenge.
She said: “The support of our local communities enables us to provide services over and above what the NHS can provide in the three counties of Hywel Dda and we are extremely grateful for every donation we receive.”
