Residents of the Free Street area in Brecon have expressed their concerns following the devastating impact the heavy rain had last weekend.
Water rushed into some homes and residents tried hard to stem the flood but had very little in the way of sandbags.
It was made worse by buses and traffic heading up the street as people tried to hold off the water.
Cllr. Liz Rijnenberg has said: "I have visited and spoken to some residents who have expressed concerns that this may happen again given the increase in extreme weather events we are experiencing.
"Powys County Council have been out clearing up and will be investigating what needs to be done to prevent this happening again.
"Cllr. Chris Walsh and I will be staying in touch with those affected to ensure that they are supported and we urge anyone who has been affected and requires help to get in touch.“
