An 18-year-old from Brecon has raised over £1,000 for charity with a skydive from 12,000 feet.
Alice Davies took the plunge at Swansea Airport last month to raise money and awareness for Parkinson’s UK.
Alice’s grandfather was diagnosed with Parkinson’s seven years ago.
Alice has just finished her A-level studies at Hereford Sixth Form and is now working Hills in Brecon, as she is saving to go to Australia in January.
Due to his illness, Alice’s grandfather is now unable to do activities he once enjoyed such as fishing and cycling, but currently has a Parkinson’s nurse, who provides expert care and support. Alice says the nurse been of great help to her nan and wider family.
As well as help fund nurses and support networks, Parkinson’s UK helps fund research of the disease and has the ultimate aim of finding a cure.
Alice chose to skydive as it was something she had never done before so would be a big challenge for her. Since the jump, she has broken her target of £1,000 and is looking to raise as much money and awareness as possible.
