LLANAFAN Fawr teenager Tom Samuel will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of the Breconshire village's most famous son after he made it into Wales' 24 man U16 squad.
Tom, 16, had attended several training sessions with the original 28 man squad and, following the final session on Saturday, March 26, the versatile back-rower discovered he had made the cut.
The talented teen admitted he was 'ecstatic' about the news but is keeping his feet firmly on the ground when it comes to being compared with Mid Wales' most famous sporting son Mark Jones, who also hails from the same small village of Llanafan, near Builth Wells, as Tom.
