PROPOSALS for a health park on the Bronllys Hospital site have been supported by chief executive of Powys' Health Board.

Bob Hudson, who heads the Powys Teaching Health Board voiced his support for the plan and said he will speak to the Welsh Government at a meeting with members of the Powys Health and Well Being Action Group (PHWBAG) on December 1.

The proposed site for the health park is 75 acres of land which is not currently used by NHS Wales forms part of the Welsh estate and PHWBAG is hoping a long term agreement for its use can be reached with the help of Mr Hudson.

The development would see Bronllys NHS Community Hospital retained at its core together with a mix of eco-friendly affordable homes, including homes for the elderly. Proposals also include a home for people with dementia and a Maggie Day Centre for people with cancer as well as many other facilities.
