Builth Wells Rotary Club was recently approached by Irfon Judo Club for help with the cost of replacing necessary equipment, including mats and a storage trolley.

The current cost of these essentials is £5,172.

Builth Wells Rotary recognised the cause of helping local projects and generously gifted a cheque for £1,000.

The judo club has a strong membership and has achieved many awards and medals at club, county, national, international and Commonwealth level. This is not forgetting the recreational activity for those members who enjoy being part of a sport which gives such a sense of well-being, both physically and mentally.

The judo club was established in 1977 and is coached by Richard Jones.

It meets every Monday evening, at 5:30pm, in Builth Wells Sports Centre.
