A proposal has been put forward to relocate the Post Office in Builth Wells.
Post Office Ltd is proposing to move their Builth branch next door to Crown Buildings (currently Barclays Bank), 11 Broad Street, Builth Wells, LD2 3AE.
The branch is currently at 1 High Street, Builth Wells, LD2 3DN.
The proposed move is seen as an opportunity to move into larger premises in order to expand the retail area of the store. The Post Office says the move would help secure continued access to services locally and ensuring the Post Office’s long-term viability for the community.
The proposed premises, which would be empty after the bank moves out, would undergo a refurbishment to incorporate Builth Wells Post Office and a convenience store.
Customers would access Post Office services at two Post Office serving points alongside the retail counter.
The Post Office would offer the same range of products and services. The opening hours would remain as Monday to Saturday: 8am – 10pm; Sunday: 10am – 2pm.
The opportunity to give feedback will close on March 21. Customers can share their views during the consultation online at postofficeviews.co.uk with the branch code 239644.

Last year it was announced that the Builth Wells branch of Barclays will close on March 6.
Barclays said the reason for the closure is due to fewer people visiting the branch and more people banking online.
The closest Barclays branches following the closure will be located in Hereford and Carmarthen, both more than an hour’s drive away.
