Local speciality coffee roaster, Cribyn Coffee Company, has provided coffee for almost 2000 guests at a London event.
The business, based near Brecon, provided the refreshment for the Lord Mayor of The City of London at his “Big Curry Lunch” held at the Guildhall in London on Thursday, March 30.
The event, attended by Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, is an important fundraiser for ABF The Soldiers Charity, as well as The Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund and The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity.
Rhys Iley, owner and founder of Cribyn Coffee Company said: “As we are a business based near Brecon, the home of the Army in Wales, it was only natural that we would support such an important event which over the years as raised millions of pounds to support our veterans.”
The guests, both military and civilian enjoyed a great curry lunch, in the wonderful surroundings of the Guildhall, followed by coffee that had been roasted at Cribyn Coffee Company’s Roastery in Scethrog, only a few miles east of Brecon.
“One of my personal highlights was to chat to a number of veterans, especially those from the Parachute Regiment, who all had fond memories of the times they visited the Beacons on training exercises”, said Rhys, whose coffee has been enjoyed by members of the armed forces across the UK.
Located in a converted coach house in the heart of the Brecon Beacons, Cribyn Coffee Company roasts speciality coffee from across the world that is now served in hospitality, office and military establishments across the UK, and can be found in local farm shops and delis.
“We are a proud supporter of our armed forces, so it was a special moment to see our coffee being served to and enjoyed by so many people in the City of London,” Rhys added.
