On Thursday, August 26, Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team attended Dowlais Rugby Football Club to help with an individual who had suffered an ankle injury.
The player had fractured his ankle during a game a few hundred metres away from the rescue team's base.
Team members treated the ankle and stretchered the casualty off the field and waited with him for the Welsh Ambulance Services NHS Trust paramedics and ambulance to arrive.
A spokesperson from Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team said: "We of course keep our fingers crossed for his speedy recovery."
