Charlotte Church is set to move to Rhayader full time, after listing her Dinas Powys mansion for £ 2.3 million.
The singer bought her family home, The Spinney, in 2010 for £1.3 million. In 2018, Church bought Rhydoldog House, previously owned by renowned designer Laura Ashley. She documented the renovation on a TV show, before opening the doors of The Dreaming, a retreat described as being 'an innovative and inspiring new wellness retreat nestled in the heart of Wales.'
It was reported that Charlotte spent over a million pounds on the renovation of the home, which has 47 acres of land around it. Now, it seems that Charlotte has fallen in love with the Elan Valley, and is set to live in the area for good.
She described the six-bedroom home, which has a gated property at the end of a private drive, as the "perfect party house."
Describing why the Dinas Powys home has been so special to her, she said: "I think particularly the fact that we're surrounded by nature. We've got these amazing mature gardens. It's the sort of thing that you would only see in an arboretum, so that feels pretty special.
"Also the fact that we're literally 10 minutes from the centre of Cardiff which is super handy to be this remote and in a retreat sanctuary, but also to be so close to town.”
The Dinas Powys home also kept in theme with the natural setting, similar to that of Charlotte's soon-to-be new home. Describing her favourite part of her old house, she said: "For me, it's all about the garden and the nature surrounding. We're bordered by forests on three sides so for me this house is all about nature. We have three acres of gardens here at The Spinney and there are loads of magical little areas. One being The Spinney - which is what the house is named after. We got married in there so that's a very sacred special place.”
Since owning Rhydoldog House, Charlotte has been splitting her time between the two.
