Brecon has welcomed in its new Mayor for the coming year.

Cllr John Powell has been installed as the new Mayor of Brecon for the municipal year 2024/25 - taking over the reins from Cllr Michaela Davies.

Cllr Powell was installed at the Annual General Meeting of Brecon Town Council at the Guildhall on Monday, May 13.

During his time in office, Cllr Powell will be raising funds for Brecon Mountain Rescue, Brecon Volunteer Bureau, Usk House/St David’s Hospice and Brecon Foodbank.

The Deputy Mayor for the year is Cllr Marie Matthews.
