A singer from Crickhowell has released his new song, reflecting on a past 'rocky relationship', and coming to terms with the idea of being better off alone.
Sixteen-year-old Tom Cooper released Never Again on all streaming platforms, which brings together pop and rock to create an up-beat, optimistic vibe.
"I started getting a passion for music when I came into high school and my music teacher let me into the music rooms pretty much every break and lunch time," Tom said. "I wrote my first song in 2019 after a car crash but really got into music during the first Covid lockdown where I started recording covers of popular songs and posting them on YouTube."
This passion for music has only grown, with Tom hoping that he can help promote the Welsh music scene through his releases. "I write my own songs and play piano and guitar. All of my songs are recorded in my bedroom at home."
He cites famous rock stars as his influence. "I’ve been brought up listening to a wide variety of music from Elton John to Bon Jovi. My main musical influences are Post Malone and Lewis Capaldi."
Now, following this release, Tom is looking ahead to the future, where he hopes he can continue releasing music and following a musical path. "I worked on the song with a producer based in USA called Matt Tabor. I’m currently working on new material with my producer while studying for my A Levels and I hope to be able to have a career as a music artist in the near future."
