Derek Brockway will be exploring Llandrindod Wells in an upcoming episode of Weatherman Walking.

Derek begins his walk in the town centre before heading to a local park that has helped change the town’s fortunes over the years. Established by the Victorians in the 1860s, the park is famous for its spring water. The high salt and iron content is known to have medicinal benefits.

As Derek continues his walk, he approaches a lowland wetland habitat. Here, he assists two members of The Woodland Trust to clear the wetland of excess vegetation to help maintain the area and allow open space for aquatic wildlife.

This series sees the introduction of the ‘Weatherman Walking’ Local Hero Award, which Derek will present within each community he visits. In this episode, he’s presenting the award to a well-deserving First Responder.
