THIS little mongrel had a short stay in police custody this morning after being found running loose near a supermarket.

Police in Ystradgynlais had appealed for its owner to come forward after it was brought to the police station this morning.

The small black curly haired dog was found running in the road near the Asda supermarket at Ystalyfera at around 10.30am.

A member of Dyfed-Powys Police staff at Ystradgynlais station said: "The dog has now been reunited with its owner who came to collect it after people told her they had seen the dog being taken away."
