Llandovery College students are celebrating their GCSEs results today, with the college continuing on from the strong A-level results announced last week.
Students, parents and staff are celebrating with 32 per cent 9 -7s (A*-A) grades of all examinations taken. This is a rise from 23 per cent in 2019 - the last externally examined period of exams.
There was also an increase in 9-4s (A*-C) grades - from 76 per cent in 2019 to 80 per cent this year.
Llandovery College’s highest performing students secured an impressive 6A*s and 4As, 4A*s and 5As, with many more delighted students achieving a host of A grades in numerous subjects.
Llandovery College Warden, Dominic Findlay, said: “I am hugely proud of both the students and staff who worked tirelessly over the past few very difficult years to gain such wonderful results.
“Despite the exam board downgrading of results, back to 2019 levels, our students and staff have performed incredibly well to raise their achievement across the board.
"We look forward to welcoming those Year 11s returning to Llandovery College in September, alongside a host of new students, as they progress along their educational pathway in the sixth form.”
