The Bracken Trust Singers enjoyed a busy Christmas period this year, having performed in no less than 10 concerts during the build up to the big day last week.
Starting with the Bracken Trust Christmas Fayre at Holy Trinity Church, Llandrindod Wells in mid November, the Singers then had two engagements on the last weekend of the month at the Metropole Hotel’s Christmas Fayre.
The Singers also performed at the Lakeside Restaurant on two Saturday evenings in December. There was a different programme when they sang for the children and parents at the Children’s Grotto held at the Bracken Trust Centre in Cefnllys Lane. This year the Singers annual Christmas Carol Service took place at Crossgates Church on the first Saturday of December.
As well as the concert, one of the other highlights was the songs and carols performed for the residents and staff of Crosfield House Care Home, Rhayader. Here the items ranged from “Little Donkey” to “Jingle Bell Rock” and from the “The Holly and the Ivy” to “White Christmas”.
After this concert the Singers travelled to The Bell Inn, Llanyre, where they enjoyed their annual Christmas lunch.
