A gentlemen walking in the Brecon Beacons this weekend required assistance from mountain rescue teams after he tripped and fell.

The gentlemen sustained an ankle injury and heard a 'crack' when he fell.

Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team, and Brecon Mountain Rescue Team located the casualty on the saddle between Corn Du and Pen y Fan.

The teams were contacted early afternoon by both South Wales Police and Heddlu Dyfed-Powys Police following phone calls requesting assistance from the walker.

The casualty was treated for his injuries, a suspected fracture dislocation of the ankle, given pain relief, packaged in a warming casualty bag to protect from the elements.

He was then stretchered back down to the car park, where he was driven by his partner to their local hospital.

A spokesperson for Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team said: "We wish him a speedy recovery."
