Residents, businesses and community groups are being encouraged to take up their brooms and join Brecon’s Big Spring Clean next month.
The event is organised by Team Brecon, a local community action group led by Brecon’s Labour County and Town Councillors. The group works to help keep Brecon tidy, plant flower beds and improve community spaces through local action.
The Big Spring Clean starts at 10:30am on Sunday, April 2 at Brecon’s Guildhall. The group says there is something for everyone to do - from litter picking to sweeping side streets and weeding flower beds to washing walkways.
Brecon West Councillor Matthew Dorrance said: “Join us for Brecon’s Big Spring Clean and let’s work together to keep our lovely town in tip-top condition.
“Brecon is a brilliant town that has so much to offer, and we want to make sure it’s looking its best for the weeks and months ahead.
“So come along to the Guild Hall on Sunday, April 2 with your brooms, your dustpans and your gardening tools if you have them and help us keep Brecon tidy.”
Brecon East Councillor Liz Rijnenberg added: “Come and join us as this is a great community event and let’s bring a sparkle to Brecon as we start the season.”
