A pet sitting service in Brecon is looking to set an example to dog owners as it carries out a poo patrol on Friday morning.
Friends for Pets Brecon, which offers dog walking, pet sitting, pet visits and animal boarding, will take to the town’s streets for two hours on July 29 to clean up as much dog poo as possible.
Lucy, who runs the Brecon branch, said: “We are going to be carrying out a dog poo patrol on Friday 29th July 2022 to try and clean up the streets of Brecon and try to set an example to dog owners who perhaps aren’t responsible when it comes to picking up after their dog.”
Friends for Pets Brecon, which recently turned 14, has taken to social media to ask for help from residents in identifying the worst areas for dog fouling in Brecon.
A post on the Brecon and Surrounding Areas Facebook community group has gained a lot of attention with around 60 people commenting on what they believe to be the town’s dog poo hotspots.
Various locations were put forward, although the most popular areas in the comments were The Avenue, outside the Castle Hotel, and The Groves.
Other areas include Cradoc Road hill, and the areas around Llanfaes Primary Schools, Christ College and the Priory School.
