Storm Eunice is expected to bring significant disruption to Powys with extremely strong winds and heavy rain. Yellow weather warnings were originally put in place on Powys, but have been recently upgraded to an amber warning for Friday, February 18.
With the upgraded weather warning, there is an increased chance of danger, and damage to buildings. Roads, bridges and railway lines are likely to close, and there could be delays and cancellations to transport services.
Power cuts are also becoming increasingly more likely and could be prolonged, affecting services such as mobile phone coverage. Storm Dudley is still at a yellow warning for today and tomorrow with strong winds and heavy rain showers.
The Met Office recommends that you secure loose objects before the storm, such as ladders, and garden furniture. They also suggest to close and securely fasten doors and windows, park cars in garages, where possible, and to keep vehicles clear of trees, walls, and fences.
The website suggests that people try to stay inside as much as possible and to not go outside to repair damage during the storm.
