A South Powys resident paid £400 outside of court after he was identified as the culprit for bags of domestic waste found in Ystradgynlais.
The resident has been sanctioned for fly-tipping by Powys County Council. It comes after bags of domestic refuse were found dumped on Palleg Road, Ystradgynlais earlier this year.
Powys council’s Waste Enforcement team investigated and a suspect was identified and interviewed under caution.
Having admitted the offence and shown some remorse, on this occasion they were able to settle the matter out of court via payment of a £400 Fixed Penalty Notice.
A spokesperson from Powys County Council’s recycling team posted a photo on social media and to say: “We are clamping down on this criminal and anti-social behaviour, which blights communities, impacts local amenity and can potentially harm people and wildlife.”
