ERWOOD YFC are celebrating winning the Wales YFC pantomime competition.

The cast and supporters battled everything the winter weather could throw at them to reach the Princess Theatre venue in Port Talbot where the final took place on Sunday, March 28.

They beat off the opposition from across Wales to take first place with their production of ‘Return to Neverland’.

Erwood YFC will now represent Wales at the National YFC Pantomime finals at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool. The production has been written and produced by Sam Powell, the Erwood YFC chairman.

The relatively small cast of 28 players were complimented by the adjudicator on

the quality of their dancing and effective use of set.

Sam said: “We’re delighted to represent Wales at the National YFC Pantomime finals, this is a once in a life time opportunity for our  young members to perform on the Winter Gardens stage.”

The club will be holding some fundraising events to help meet the cost of taking the production to Blackpool. A concert featuring the winning pantomime will be held on Saturday, April 21 at 7pm in the Strand Hall in Builth Wells.  The club are also looking for sponsorship from local companies and would be grateful for the donation of prizes to put into a raffle or auction.
