A kind-hearted Llandrindod Wells family has donated £1,200 for life saving equipment in memory of their loved one.
Pearl Thomas and her two sons Glenn and Phil made the donation in memory of their son and brother, Al Tom, who passed away suddenly a couple of years ago.
The family donated an initial £900 to Llandrindod Wells First Responders. They then donated a further £300 raised from an evening event to remember Al at Llandrindod Wells Golf Club.
The family were keen that people in the town should have the best chance of surviving a medical emergency, following Al Tom’s tragic death.
Llandrindod Wells Community First Responder Tony Dudley said; “The first responder team who are volunteers, were amazed to receive this donation from the family in memory of Al Tom.
“The money has been used to purchase life-saving equipment in his memory. It has already been used on a couple of occasions.
“Each of our members now has an emergency response bag and a defibrillator and I have one available at all times to help people in need in our community."
Llandrindod Wells First Responders are a community team, reliant on donations, who attend to 999 and life threatening callouts. They are often the first on the scene in the case of a medical incident.
