NFU Mutual Agents and their staff at the Brecon agency recently nominated local charity Brecon and District Mind to receive a donation of more than £6,500 from NFU Mutual’s national £1.92 million ‘Agency Giving Fund’.

The leading rural insurer launched this fund, now in its fifth year, to support frontline charities across the country. The Agency Giving Fund is part of NFU Mutual’s £3.25 million funding pledge to support both local and national charities in 2024, aiding ongoing pandemic recovery and addressing the impact of the rising cost of living.

To ensure these donations reach all corners of the UK and are directed where they’re needed most, each of NFU Mutual’s more than 280 agency offices has had the opportunity to nominate local charities to receive a share of the fund.

Brecon and District Mind is a small charity and one of many local Minds across England and Wales. It offers a range of mental health and wellbeing services and opportunities to get involved throughout Brecon, Hay, Talgarth and Crickhowell in South Powys.

Marie Davies, CEO of Brecon and District Mind, said: “We are grateful to have been chosen as NFU Mutual Brecon’s nominated charity this year as there are so many charities making a vital difference to choose from in the area.

“This support will help us continue in our aim to be ‘here when you need us to help you manage your mental health and wellbeing’ in the area, including the running of our Community Wellbeing Centre and offering new workshops and training sessions.”
