Faye Morgan, Account Handler at FUW Insurance Services Ltd, won a silver award at the prestigious Success Through Skills Awards 2025 held recently at Cardiff and Vale College.
Faye, who works at the company’s Builth Wells office, scooped the silver award in the Apprenticeship Learner of the Year category at the ceremony hosted by training providers ACT and ALS.
Faye, who lives near Newbridge-on-Wye, joined FUW Insurance Services Ltd in July 2023, having had no background or experience in the insurance or financial sector.
Since starting her employment, Faye achieved her CERT CII qualification within 13 months, growing from strength to strength in the role and absorbing a significant amount of knowledge in a short period of time.
Faye has immersed herself in the company, also attending FUW Insurance Services Ltd’s internal Annual Business Conference, which boosted her confidence and encouraged her to engage with more opportunities for development. She has also been successful in securing a place on the FUW Insurance Services Ltd’s in-house ‘Account Handler Academy’.
Alongside Faye’s success, long-standing Senior Account Executive, Ann Harries Jones also won a gold award in the Welsh Language Champion category for her services in promoting the Welsh Language in over thirty years working for the company on the Isle of Anglesey.
Meanwhile, Hazel Eldridge, Administration Manager for FUW Insurance Services Ltd won a gold award in the Higher Apprenticeship Learner of the Year category.
Commenting on FUW Insurance Services Ltd’s triple success at the award ceremony, Board Chair, Ann Beynon OBE said: “We are delighted with Ann, Hazel and Faye’s success at this recent award ceremony, and as a business we are honoured to see our staff once again recognised so highly for their hard work and dedication.
“These successes are particularly gratifying as they embody the wealth of talent, experience and enthusiasm we have in FUW Insurance Services Ltd across many generations - from Ann’s hard work and dedication towards the Welsh language over three decades in Anglesey, to Faye’s terrific achievements and enthusiasm since joining the team in July 2023.
“Meanwhile, Hazel’s staff development initiatives are hugely appreciated both by the account handlers she supports and by the business as a whole. Her work has contributed to a significant revenue uplift across the business which demonstrates how people are a company's most important asset.
“Their achievements demonstrate the value of investing in our people and fostering a culture of excellence, which benefits the company and customers.”
Guto Bebb, Chief Executive of FUW Insurance Services Ltd added: “The recent awards at the Success Through Skills Awards 2025 are a cause of celebration for everyone at FUW Insurance Services Ltd.
“As well as Ann’s outstanding success in winning the Welsh Language Champion category, we’re also delighted to see our investment in apprenticeships recognised once again through Hazel and Faye’s awards.
“Both successes follow another double triumph at the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) annual Apprenticeship Awards in November, and reinforce our commitment to providing exceptional opportunities for young people to gain valuable skills and launch successful careers in rural Wales.”
