Father Christmas himself dropped into Bronllys and Llyswen this year to help raise money for good causes.
Arriving on a sleigh, he visited the communities to spread some Christmas cheer and undertake a bucket collection on the evening of Friday, December 22.
This year, Bronllys raised a total of £500 for the charity Welsh Air Ambulance.
On Thursday, December 21 Santa dropped into Llyswen and raised £225.18 much-needed revenue for their village hall. Special thanks must go to all the Llyswen elves namely Carrianne, Shan, William, Ken, Kevin, Beth, Emma and her daughter and husband, and Ani chief Elve.
A big thank you to Josh and Lottie his 10-year-old helper for driving the motorised reindeer and pulling the sleigh for Llyswen.
A big thank you the Bronllys elves Rachel, Emma, Lorna, and her daughter Grace and Cllr Mitch Bouette who has always been a keen supporter of the group, and his young son Cayden and to Colin Brown for driving the motorised reindeer pulling the sleigh for Bronllys.
Thank you also to Heather from the Anchorage shop for her advice on sourcing sweets, and chocolates and to Bronllys Community Council for donating the monies to purchase the chocolates to be given to all children of both communities.
A very special mention to the big man himself Santa who is always on hand to help out. Finally, to the residents of both communities for their very generous donations.
Terry Hurford of the group said: “Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very happy and prosperous New Year!”
