Fire crews have rescued a dog stuck on a cliff near to the tallest waterfall in southern Wales.

At 11:19am on Sunday, June 16, Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service crews from Abercrave and Pontardawe Fire Stations were called to an incident near Henrhyd Falls in Abercrave.

Crews responded to a dog that had become stuck on a cliff edge, approximately 20 feet above a stream.

Crews mobilised a rope rescue team and established a line system to locate and rescue the dog.

After a successful return to its owner, the dog was taken to a veterinarian as it has sustained an injury to its leg. 

Crews left the scene at 4:11pm.
