Firefighters across Mid Wales braved the floods into the early hours of the morning to help rescue people from vehicles stuck in flood water.

Knighton Fire station has said their crew attended ten water related incidents yesterday (Wednesday, October 16) and in the early hours of this morning.

They were assisted by neighbouring brigades, including Presteigne Fire Brigade.

A spokesperson for Knighton Fire Station said: “These incidents were in and around our area, assisted by colleagues from both neighbouring brigades.

“Some of these calls involved rescues of people from vehicles stuck in flood water, please be careful where you are going today, there is lots of standing water around and it is probably deeper than it looks!”
