New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to six of Powys’s restaurants, cafes or canteens, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.

The following ratings have been given to six restaurants, cafes or canteens:

• Rated 5: Nook Buffet at 42 High Street, Welshpool, Powys; rated on October 15

• Rated 5: Kirstys Cafe at Berriew Lay-By, Berriew, Welshpool, Powys; rated on October 7

• Rated 5: Fork Handles Farm Shop at Penybryn, Llangedwyn, Oswestry, Shropshire; rated on October 2

• Rated 5: Castle Kitchen at Broad Street, Montgomery, Powys; rated on September 24

• Rated 1: Spice Hut at The Black Lion, North Street, Rhayader, Powys; rated on September 11

• Rated 0: Zeera at No. 2 Emporium Building, Temple Street, Llandrindod Wells, Powys; rated on September 11

It means that of Powys's 416 similar establishments with ratings, 268 (64%) have ratings of five and just one has a zero rating.
