FORMER British army sniper turned author Dan Mills came back from southern Iraq in October 2004 determined to tell the real-life story of the siege of Cimic House.

A ferocious battle that has since become part of military folklore, Dan and his team of 15 snipers were among 100 British soldiers who came under siege from the Mahdi Army, in August 2004, some 500 militia determined to drive the British Army out of Al-Amarah.
