Supermarket Co-op is to operate a pop-up shop and a free mini-bus to Brecon when its Talgarth store closes for a refurbishment.
The Co-op store in Talgarth Square is expected to close for two months for a £500,000 refurbishment at the end of January.
The pop-up shop will have more than 120 lines of every day essentials and will be sited on the Church Hall car park between 7am – 6pm daily.
Co-op said it had responded to local feedback to introduce the mini-bus to Brecon and believes the temporary free service will be of particular benefit to the elderly and those without access to their own transport.
The Talgarth Co-op will close at 6pm on Sunday, January 29 and is expected to re-open on Friday, March 31.
The refurbishment, which will increase the shop floor by 20%, coincides with an investment by the Post Office to secure the service in the town. Post Office services will become available throughout the store’s new opening hours, from 6am to 10pm, seven days a week.
