YFC members from across Radnorshire flocked to Ffoeslaprey Farm, Llanbister for the annual Field Day competition recently.

The event was sponsored by Hafren Veterinary Group and kindly hosted by Martin, Nerys, Rebecca and Ross Samuel on behalf of Cantal YFC.

The day was packed with a variety of competitions spread across the morning and afternoon. Clubs competed in events such as cookery, flower arranging, street dancing, ATV challenges, lamb trimming and the ever-popular fencing competition.

Once again Radnor YFC had a large number of entries in the fencing competition.

Howey YFC won the junior fencing title and Rhayader YFC were crowned senior fencing champions.

Robbie Savage and Sam Bowen of Radnor Valley YFC won the ATV challenge, Ben Chilman of Presteigne YFC won the auctioneering, Ella Harris of Teme Valley YFC took first place in the senior floral and Lauren Kinsey-Owen came first in the Christmas wreath decoration competition.

Penybont YFC won the street dance competition and Edw Valley YFC won the dederation display, where the theme of the competition was to raise awareness for the Teenage Cancer Trust.

The efficiency with safety competition was held at Underhill Riding Centre by kind permission of Nigel and Jess Bufton, with the team from Penybont YFC taking the title and the points going forward to Field Day.

After a long day of competition, the overall winners were announced as Penybont YFC with Howey YFC coming runners-up by just one point, who were followed in third place by Radnor Valley YFC.
