A BRECONSHIRE cake maker has won a UK-wide award for her wedding cakes for the second year in a row.

Gail’s Cake Pantry, based in Erwood, has been commended at the Hitched.co.uk Wedding Awards 2023 and named as one of the best wedding professionals in the UK. 

This year marks the second edition of the prestigious Hitched Wedding Awards, which examine more than 18,000 wedding vendors registered on their online platform.

Gail’s Cake Pantry is one this year’s winners in the Wedding Cakes category, making them one of the most recommended professionals by newlyweds on Hitched.co.uk. The awards are based on reviews by couples who married in the past year. 

Gail’s Cake Pantry  received a total of 68 reviews on their online storefront on Hitched.co.uk and a rating of 5.0 out of 5.0 determined by the couples who planned their weddings with them. 

The business has received a badge, which will serve as a marker of quality to the thousands of couples who use Hitched to book their wedding vendors. 

Owner Gail Jackson has lived in Erwood for the past two years. 

Gail’s Cake Pantry was relocated from Worcestershire, but the family originally lived in Llyswen 20 years ago where they owned a tearoom. They moved back to the area during the Covid pandemic.

The house has a huge kitchen, pantry and storeroom, so has more than enough room for their baking needs. 

The house was renamed The Pantry and also houses a two-bedroom B&B, with bedrooms named ‘Welsh cake’ and ‘Bara Brith’.

Gail’s Cake Pantry specialises in wedding cakes, but they can also make other celebration cakes when time allows.
