Author Bridget Ashton, who grew up in Hay-on-Wye is holding a meet the author event in the town on Wednesday, May 29.

Bridget will be discussing her three books: ‘Hay Before the Bookshops or the Beeman’s family,’ ‘Hit the Road Gals,’ and ‘Cold War, Warm Hearts.’

Bridget’s books cover a range of topics from growing up in Hay in the 1950s to travelling behind the Iron Curtain in 1967 and hitchhiking through Europe and North Africa.

The free event is being held at the Royal British Legion Community Hub on Market Street on Wednesday, May 29 at 1pm.

Attending the event will be Tonie, Mary, and Jenny who travelled with Bridget and are mentioned in ‘Hit the Road Gals.’
