A new film exploring the environmental impact of phosphate overuse will be shown in Hay-on-Wye at the end of this month.
“Phosphates: Too Much of a Good Thing?” will be screened at St Mary’s Church in Hay on Thursday, October 31 at 7:30pm.
The documentary delves into the challenges caused by phosphates on the Somerset Levels, with insight from scientists, farmers, and concerned individuals. It highlights how phosphates, essential for life, are over-mined for fertiliser use, leading to significant ecological damage.
The film draws inspiration from Our Lady of the Waters on the River Wye, addressing an issue that threatens global ecosystems.
The film is 30 minutes and will be followed by Q&A. Free entry with light refreshments.
