Sunshine shone down on Builth Wells recently when saw the 75th Cwmowen Show took place at Blaenbwch Farm, Maesmynis.

The Show, which took place on Wednesday, August 14, started at 9am and included 80 dogs and their owners taking part in the sheepdog trials.

A display of children’s crafts competition entries was followed by a sports afternoon, which included beanbag and sack races, a cross country race, companion dog show and the pony show.

Further highlights of the day included the weighing-in of the ‘Spudtacular’ competition, which was for the heaviest crop of potatoes grown by committee members from a root potato, and ‘Guess the weight of two donkeys’ competition.

Carol Smith was the Show President and judges were Roy Jones (sheepdog trials), John Kirk (pony show) and Meg Taylor of Builth Wells Veterinary Practice (dog show).
