A security services company has made a substantial donation to a mid Wales rugby club following their recent final victory.
Risk Management Security Services of High Wycombe have topped up an earlier donation of £5,000 with another £5,000 to Llandovery players and coaches in celebration of the club’s stunning 24-8 win over Cardiff in the Indigo Premiership Play-Off Final.
The money will be used for a rugby tour at the end of the 2023/2024 season.
Risk Management Security Services was established in 1976 and is still privately owned by its founder John Herring, a native of Llyswen and close friend of local rugby journalist Huw S thomas from their time together at Aylesbury RFC in the 1970s.
Mr Herring and partner Louise Wilson were thrilled at the qualty of the Drovers’ play in Sunday’s final at the famous Arms Park.
“Louise and I send our heartfelt congratulation to the coaches and players at what can only be described as a very convincing and skillful victory against all the odds,” said Mr Herring.
“To beat Cardiff on their own patch in such a big game and beat them in such style makes us proud to be Llandovery backers.
“We are proud to be associated with what I call a proper rugby football club - full of nice people and talented coaches and players.
“Well done to everyone at Church Bank.”
Mr Herring’s company has developed into a market leader in the Thames Valley area and in recent years has extended its coverage into other areas within the South East and Midlands by specialising in the provision of high quality security solutions that include manned guarding, mobile patrols, keyholding and alarm response.
Their sponsorship over the last 20 years has been greatly valued by Llandovery RFC and their recent gesture of money destined for a club tour at the end of the 2023-2024 season is testament to their ongoing and hugely valued support.
