A Llandrindod Wells man has been banned from driving for 20 months after admitting multiple motoring offences and attempting to possess cocaine.

Jason Thomas, 53, of Coed Derw, Temple Street, appeared at Merthyr Tydfil Magistrates' Court on February 17, where he pleaded guilty to four offences relating to an incident on February 1.

Thomas admitted driving a Vauxhall Astra on the B4558 between Groesffordd and Pencelli without insurance and without a valid licence. His driving record was endorsed, but no separate penalty was imposed.

He also pleaded guilty to attempting to possess cocaine, which was ordered to be forfeited and destroyed.

Additionally, Thomas admitted failing to provide a specimen for analysis while in custody at Brecon police station.

Thomas was fined £200 and ordered to pay an £85 prosecution cost and an £80 surcharge.

His driving ban will last 20 months, and he must pay his fines in £20 monthly instalments starting in March.
