A Llandrindod Wells woman has celebrated her 100th birthday with family, friends and residents at a local care home.
Pauline Johnson celebrated her milestone birthday at Wylesfield Care Home with her loved ones, where they enjoyed afternoon tea and live music from local performer, Holly Richards.
Born in Liverpool, Pauline moved to Warwick during the Second World War, during which time she worked in a Leamington Spa-based factory that made parts for vehicles used in the war.
She later met her husband-to-be John William Johnson, with whom she had a daughter, Sheila.
Throughout their lives the couple enjoyed holidaying in Mid Wales, leading to them settling on moving to Llandrindod after retirement.
Pauline moved into Wylesfield in September 2014 and says the secret to her longevity is being happy and kind.
Netty Stedman, manager of the Shaw healthcare-operated home, said: “We were delighted to be able to organise this event to celebrate Pauline’s milestone birthday and we’d like to thank everyone who came for making it such a special day.”
