Events have been announced to commemorate the 80th anniversary of VE Day in Llandrindod Wells.

A family tea party will take place at the Royal British Legion Club on Monday, May 5, at 2pm. On Thursday, May 8, a commemoration at the war memorial will feature a proclamation by town crier Jan Swindale at 6pm, followed by performances from Ysgol Cefnllys and Ysgol Trefonnen school choirs. Attendees are encouraged to bring tea lights to honour those who served.

The commemorations will conclude with a service at the war memorial on Sunday, May 11, at 3pm, led by Reverend Andrew Tweed and the Royal British Legion.

The events are organised by Llandrindod Wells Royal British Legion, Llandrindod Wells Town Council, and the town crier.
