Despite the wet weather, Brian and Mairwen Price had a beautiful wedding day on March 20, 1965.
60 years later, the couple enjoyed celebrating their Diamond Wedding Anniversary with family and friends in their native Llangammarch, Powys.
Brian and Mairwen were married by the Reverand Trevor Williams in Nazareth Chapel, Llangammarch and the reception was held in the Cammarch Hotel. The best man was Bob Price, the groom’s brother. Mairwen had four bridesmaids - her sisters Nesta and Elizabeth Davies, and her two nieces, Janet McKay and Glenys Freeth.
Brian worked for the civil engineering department of the Forestry Commission and Mairwen was the cook at the Irfon Valley Primary School in Garth. They have two sons, Wyn who is married to Catherine, and Ian who is married to Sarah, and have four grandchildren – Callum, Dafydd, Caitlin and Ciaren.
The happy couple, who received a card from King Charles and Queen Camilla, would like to thank their family and friends for their kind wishes, cards, flowers and gifts.
