A WAR memorial to past pupils of a former Brecon school who died during the First World War is to be restored.

The marble table lists nearly 30 former pupils of the old Pendre School but had been left gathering dust in storage at nearby Brecon Cathedral following the closure of the school in the 1970s.

During that time the former school building had been left unused until it re-opened as the St John Family Centre in July 2012 and now following a family campaign by the descendants of three brothers honoured the tablet will be returned to the former school building.
